Rescuers worked to identify hazards, care for a simulated patient, stabilize an eight-foot-deep trench and rescue the patient as a demonstration for gathering area public works officials. The training exercise served as a stark safety reminder to public works staff who deal will trenching risks frequently—and an excellent training opportunity for rescue crews. Ross/West View EMSA is one of just a few services to offer such specialized rescue to Ross Township, West View Borough and surrounding communities.
