MAKING IT REAL
Run, Runbow, Run!
“We like building games that
are as much fun to design as
they are to play.”
Runbow is a frenetic group platform game developed
by 13AM Games, a Toronto-based upstart gaming
company. All nine founding members met in the postgraduate Game Design class and started developing
the game at the Toronto Global Game Jam in January
2014. Since September, they have been working on it
full time in the School of Design’s Digital Media and
Gaming Incubator.

Recipient of the Best Game Design award at 2014’s
Student Game Showcase, Level Up, Runbow has
since garnered plenty of additional accolades.
The game is self-made and self-funded but has
caught the eye of industry giant Nintendo, which
has offered enthusiastic support. It will be released
on the Wii U platform in 2015.
About the Digital Media and Gaming Incubator:
the incubator provides office space and industry
mentorship for start-ups and small companies
looking for a platform to grow their business in
the heart of the city.
