‘ PITTSBURGH STEPPING OUT TO CURE SCLERODERMA’ ON JUNE 6
The second annual Pittsburgh Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma walk will take place June 6 at McClelland Pavilion in North Strabane Township, bringing together patients, families and supporters to raise awareness and funds for the rare autoimmune disease.
Hosted as part of the National Scleroderma Foundation Mid-Atlantic Chapter’ s efforts, the event is expected to draw hundreds of participants and build on last year’ s success with a goal of raising $ 35,000.

PITTSBURGH YOUTH CHORUS TO PRESENT‘ A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING’ CABARET
The Pittsburgh Youth Chorus( PYC) will present its Grand Night for Singing cabaret on June 2 at 5:30 p. m. at Greystone Fields in Gibsonia. This lively, family-friendly event will showcase the talents of PYC’ s young performers in an evening of solo and group numbers spanning a variety of music styles.
The cabaret will also feature special guest artists, including Scott Blasey, Steven Brault, Isabel Valasek and Liz Berlin, adding star power to an already exciting program.
PYC is dedicated to providing highquality vocal training and performance opportunities for young singers throughout the region. Under the direction of Dr. Christine Jordanoff, it continues to inspire confidence, creativity and a lifelong love of music.

MEGA SUMMER CAMP
Back for the second year, registration is open for MEGA— a weeklong sports and creative arts day camp for children entering grades 1 – 5 in the fall of 2026. Hosted by Northgate Church in West View, the camp will take place June 22 – 26 from 9 a. m. to 2 p. m.

NORTH PITTSBURGH QUILTERS GUILD TO HOST QUILT SHOW
The North Pittsburgh Quilters Guild( NPQG) is hosting a quilt show celebrating 250 years of America from Sept. 11 – 13 at Ross Township Community Center, 1000 Ross Municipal Drive.
It will be open from 10 a. m. to 5 p. m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 4 p. m. on Sunday. Admission is $ 10. The show will have vendors, raffle baskets, a raffle quilt and a Treasure Chest filled with fabric and other quilting items.
NPQG is a nonprofit whose main goal is to further the quilting skills and knowledge of its members through programming, local and national speakers, workshops, lectures and a sewing retreat. The guild also participates in community service projects including making quilts for foster children, Quilts of Valor, blankets for women’ s shelters and items for cancer patients.
The guild was founded in 1981 when women from a community college quilting class decided they wanted to continue to learn and grow as a group. Members are all ages and levels of quilting experience, and the group is always looking for new members who want to enhance their quilting journey.

CARNEGIE MUSEUMS’ 2026 SUMMER CAMPS
Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History will host summer camps starting in June, offering a variety of weeklong programs for children and teens.
Camps will be held June 8 through Aug. 21, Monday through Friday, with full-day options for ages 6 – 13, half-day camps for ages 4 – 5, and specialized teen programs for grades 9 – 12 through the Youth Art Studio.

GIRL SCOUTS WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA CEO TO RETIRE
Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania Chief Executive Officer Patricia A. Burkart announced her retirement, effective in June.
Burkart was named CEO in 2007 after the merger of five western Pennsylvania councils— including Keystone Tall Trees, where she previously served as CEO.
Burkart has been a dedicated and passionate leader in the Girl Scout movement for 23 years. Prior to her executive roles, she served in a variety of capacities in social services supporting individuals with special needs.
“ I am grateful for Pat’ s leadership and her commitment to the Girl Scout mission,” said Nicole King Yohe, chair of the board of directors.“ Her impact isn’ t measured in years, but in the tens of thousands of girls who experienced the amazing benefits of Girl Scouting during her tenure.
