SEEING THE WORLD THROUGH A DIFFERENT LENS
Students in Mrs. Halasowski’ s second-grade class enjoyed a hands-on learning experience as they explored Braille and navigated by cane in connection with their reading and study of Helen Keller. They listened to an engaging presentation led by Sarafina and Ms. Emily, then had the opportunity to explore Braille toys, write their names in Braille, and practice using white cane techniques.
O’ BLOCK MATH AND SCIENCE NIGHT BRINGS FAMILIES TOGETHER
O’ Block families came together for an unforgettable evening filled with curiosity, excitement, and hands-on learning! Students and families explored activities like Estimation Station, Shake the Quake, and the always-popular Snowball Launch at O’ Block’ s Math and Science Night, while the High School Robotics team wowed the crowd with their robots in action and the library buzzed with STEM-themed story time. Each student carried a math and science passport, collecting stamps at every station as they experimented and problemsolved their way through the night.
PLUM BOROUGH LEADERS SERVE UP SCHOOL BREAKFAST WEEK
In honor of National School Breakfast Week, Plum Borough School District leaders stepped out from behind their desks and into the cafeteria line to serve breakfast alongside the dedicated staff who make morning meals possible every single day. During the first week of March, district leadership visited each school in the district, greeting students with warm smiles and a helping hand as trays were filled and the school day got off to a nourishing start. This was a way for district leadership to show their appreciation for students and staff alike, and to celebrate a program that plays a vital role in the lives of Plum Borough’ s young learners.

PLUM STUDENTS ACE THE COMPETITION AT INAUGURAL ESSPA BRIDGE CARD GAME TOURNAMENT
Plum students recently made their mark at the very first ESSPA Bridge Card Game Tournament. Bridge is no casual card game— it demands logical analysis, careful planning, and strong communication between partners— and Plum’ s students rose to the occasion, demonstrating impressive focus, sportsmanship, and thoughtful strategy throughout the day. Holiday Park’ s Jett and Plum Middle School’ s Wisdom partnered together to earn second place overall, representing the district with skill, composure, and outstanding teamwork.
TECHNOLOGY STUDENT ASSOCIATION COMPETES IN REGIONALS
Thirteen Plum Senior High School students, under the leadership of Nathan Huffman, Technology Education Teacher, participated in their first Technology Student Association competition this year. Students competed in a variety of events related to their STEAM education, including Tech Problem Solving, CO2 Dragster Design, Children’ s Stories, CAD Engineering, and Manufacturing Prototype. The event not only allowed students to exercise their skills against their peers, but seek to earn a spot in the state competition.
