PLUM POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Plum Police Department is located at the new Plum Municipal Complex at 2000 Old Mine Road .
The department consists of the chief of police , assistant chief of police , five patrol sergeants , one patrol corporal , one juvenile investigative detective , one general investigation detective , and 17 full-time patrol officers who are here to serve you , 24 hours a day , 365 days a year .
The police department would like to take this opportunity to remind residents :
• You must call 911 for any police response - it does not have to be an emergency !
• You can visit the police department 24 / 7 at the lower-level of 2000 Old Mine Road , once in the vestibule , you will see a red telephone , this phone connects directly to Allegheny County Emergency Services 911 Center . A dispatcher will take your call and notify a police officer to meet you .
• You can also email anyone in the department by going to the Boro ’ s webpage , click the police department heading and you will find a list of the entire department ’ s personnel along with their email addresses .
New Safety Feature : The new police department vestibule and upper-level vestibule have a unique feature that we want to bring to the attention of our residents . In the event of an emergency , while visiting the police department , a citizen can enter the vestibule and press the red emergency button . By pressing this red button , the doors will automatically lock behind you , denying access to anyone else who may be trying to enter the facility . This action creates a safe and secure space for anyone in potential danger . Once an individual is secured inside the vestibule , the individual can pick up the red telephone , which will be answered by Allegheny County Emergency 911 Services . The individual can then advise the dispatcher what their emergency is , and Plum Police will be dispatched to assist you .
The police lobby is also staffed by administrative personnel during regular business hours , Monday through Friday from 7:30 a . m . to 4:30 p . m .
