CO‑WORKING
SPACE AT THE BLUE
SPRUCE SHOPPES

Inspired by the strong, independent
women in their lives, and recognizing the
need for affordable office space close to

creative nods to TV’s “The Office”) is
located at the Blue Spruce Shoppes,
222 Blue Spruce Way. It is female-
owned, by sisters Deb Cavrak and Sue
Cavrak, female-designed, and female-
managed, with goal of uniting a vibrant
professional community in the area.
The Ahfis held a grand opening bash on

BLESSED PIECEMAKERS
DELIVER HAND
SEWN QUILTS
On February 18, the Blessed
Piecemakers from Newlonsburg
Presbyterian Church, delivered 11 hand
sewn quilts to the UPMC Hillman
Cancer Center in Monroeville. The
50‑inch square quilts will be given
to patients upon their first arrival for
chemotherapy treatments.
“The quilts help to make their visits
more comfortable and to encourage them
as they are wrapped in love,” says Joyce
Holben, a member of the group.
Made with donated fabric and
batting, each quilt is labeled with the
Piecemakers’ name and address. Still
going strong, the group has eight more
quilts in production.
The Piecemakers also regularly sew
skull caps, head coverings to ease the
discomfort of hair loss due to treatments,
and port packs, small cushion pressure-
absorption devices that attach to seat
belts. This group, mostly comprised of
seniors, has sewn for various mission trips
to Haiti, including one project for which
they produced more than 300 backpacks
(“cinch bags”) for the school at the
LaCroix Mission in Haiti. n
