Elementary
Strings… Music
& Beyond!
On Wednesday April 26, the Plum
Borough Elementary Orchestra
performed their annual concert at
the Plum High School auditorium.
The elementary orchestra is under
the direction of Mr. Nick Vranesevic, and consists of students
in grades 4, 5, and 6. This year, the orchestra performed a
movie themed concert entitled “A Night at the Movies.” The
students performed selections from Star Wars, Indiana Jones,
The Polar Express, Pirates of the Caribbean, and more! This
concert was different than any other strings concert that
Plum has ever experienced. The concert incorporated video
and audio that followed the repertoire and theme of the
concert which made it an exciting evening for everyone.
Including technology during the concert has raised Plum
34 Plum
Elementary Strings to a new level. In addition, the students
performed a variety of music at a very high ability level.
This is definitely a concert that you will not want to miss
next year!
If you would like to join the EXCITEMENT of the Orchestra,
you can contact Mr. Vranesevic ([email protected]),
and he will provide you with all of the information that
you need. Students entering 4th grade can begin playing
a stringed instrument in-school for the 2017–2018 school
year. We look forward to having many new students who are
excited about music and strings!
