FOOD SERVICE AND OBLOCK JUNIOR HIGH “GET SMARTER” Oblock Junior High was recently awarded a “Smarter Lunch Room” Grant in the amount of $1,200. The grant is issued to schools that are looking to increase participation in fruits, vegetables, white milk and an overall general awareness for students to make healthier choices by making healthier options more accessible and convenient. The monies from the Grant will be used to purchase a variety of display cases, colorful signs and posters for the cafeteria. In addition to the displays, Oblock’s art teacher, Mrs. Durick, has volunteered to have the 7th grade art students create colorful art décor for the cafeteria. As always, every child in the District is encouraged to make healthy choices. The Food Service Department is extremely excited to have been awarded this grant to help continue our success.
