WHAT’S NEWS IN PLUM JOIN THE PENNSYLVANIA PORCELAIN ARTISTS FOR A FALL SHOW 5TH ANNUAL EMMAUS SPIRIT RUN COSTUME 5K & 1-MILE FUN WALK Put away your everyday running gear and get into the Halloween spirit at the 5th Annual Emmaus Spirit Run Costume 5k & 1-Mile Fun Walk on Saturday, Oct. 20. The chipped 5k loops around the scenic Three Rivers Heritage Trail with the start and finish line in the South Shore Riverfront Park in the heart of the South Side Works. A family-friendly 1-mile fun walk along the Three Rivers Heritage Trail is also available. The race kicks off at 8:30 a.m. Strollers are welcome! This event offers prizes for overall and age-level winners, a spirited costume contest and post-race family fun, including pumpkin painting, Halloween crafts, photo booth, food and drinks, raffles and more! There will be china on display and hand-painted china for sale, as well as supplies of all kinds. The Pittsburgh Porcelain Artists club meets the first Thursday of the month at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Monroeville. JOE CHIODA HOSTS GOSPEL VARIETY PROGRAM If you enjoy the Statler Brothers’ and the Oak Ridge Boys’ style of singing, tune in to the 28-year “Streets of Gold” Southern Gospel Variety Program, hosted by Joe Chioda. He is a 1965 graduate of Gateway High School and a longtime resident of Monroeville. Six conventions related to the style of music have been held at the former Palace Inn of Monroeville. The program is on each Sunday at 5 p.m. on AM 620 and FM 92.3, 94.1 and 102.1. Call 412.372.0110 for more information. icmags.com PLUM HIGH SCHOOL PTSA 4TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE CRAFT AND VENDOR SHOW The Plum Senior High PTSA will host the 4th annual Holiday Boutique Craft and Vendor Show on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Plum Senior High School. This year’s event will again feature an assortment of handmade treasures by local crafters with something for everyone! Cash and Carry vendors will also be on site. Basket raffles will be offered throughout the day and refreshments will be available for purchase from Food Truck Vendors.
