GENERAL INFORMATION Entrance Requirements FERPA According to Pennsylvania State Law, the admission of beginners to the public schools shall be confined to the first two weeks of the annual school term in districts operating on an annual promotion basis. Children entering first grade must be 6 years of age on or before September 1 of the school year. Children entering kindergarten must be 5 years of age on or before September 1 of the school year. No early entrance of children to the kindergarten program or the first grade will be permitted. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”) is a Federal law that affords parents and students over 18 years of age (“eligible students”) certain rights with respect to the student’s education records.
