You’ve heard it before: Head-to-toe sun protection is essential, especially this time of year. But don’t let your love of the game jeopardize your health or leave you looking like a sun-soaked lizard. Here, five easy-to-use products that handle your head-to-toe needs.

Golfers need excellent protection without the greasy grip that comes from slathering it on. Look for no-rub formulas, such as (1) BullFrog Marathon Mist SPF 50 (from $10, drugstores).These are designed to absorb quickly and be sweat-resistant, and the spray system means hands stay clean. Make sure to apply thoroughly about 15 minutes before play and reapply every two hours or so. For trouble spots like ears and nose, pair your spray with a stick like (2) Banana Boat Sport Performance Stick SPF 50 (from $4, drugstores). Ladies like extra TLC when it comes to the face, and beauty balm creams offer great protection without clogging pores or leaving a greasy residue that makes makeup application difficult.
