In addition, Principal Kelly Gustafson serves on the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) has selected seven school administrators to serve on the AASL School Leader Collaborative, a two-year initiative that aims to strengthen AASL’s collaboration with school administrators. Varsity Competition Cheerleading Team Compete at PIAAs The Pine-Richland High School Varsity Competitive cheerleaders competed in the PIAA Competitive Spirit Championships on January 10-11 in Hershey, PA, and earned ninth place. They earned the spot after earning a silver medal in the AAA WPIAL Competition in Hempfield, PA. The team also took first place in the small varsity division at WPIALs. Teacher Featured in Art Show PRHS Art Teacher Mary Anne Andreassi was featured in a Butler Art Center exhibit that was hosted in November 2019. Mrs. Andreassi is a ceramic artist. She showcased a ceramic piece entitled “Peony Mug.” The exhibit featured the work of 57 artists and 19 ceramic artists from around the U.S. Pine-Richland Middle School Librarian Kristen Rowe is shown here at a professional development session for librarians hosted at PRSD. Librarians Appointed to Leadership Institute Eden Hall Upper Elementary School Librarian Beth Shenefiel and Pine-Richland Middle School Librarian Kristen Rowe have been appointed to serve with the Leadership Institute for School Librarians (LISL). LISL offers experienced school librarians who have been active participants in the profession and/ or in PSLA to help lead important association initiatives. Ms. Shenefiel’s leadership project will focus on developing training for the soon-to-be-released model curriculum for the PA School Library programs, and Ms. Rowe will focus on improving the 54 PINE-RICHLAND
