AHN CELEBRATES 100,000 BIRTHS
Allegheny Health Network( AHN) celebrated a major milestone, surpassing 100,000 births across its hospitals since the network was formed in 2013.
The achievement reflects more than a decade of growth and investment in maternal and newborn care throughout Western Pennsylvania, including the opening and expansion of labor and delivery units, neonatal intensive care services and specialized programs supporting maternal mental health.
AHN welcomed a record 8,756 babies in 2025 alone and continues to expand access to obstetric, gynecologic and midwifery services across the region. Network leaders credited the milestone to the dedication of caregivers and AHN’ s ongoing commitment to providing personalized, high-quality care for mothers and babies.

JONATHAN TOURNEY MEMORIAL 5K & FUN RUN
Area residents are invited to honor the memory of Jonathan Tourney by participating in the Jonathan Tourney Memorial 5K & Fun Run on Saturday, Sept. 13, in North Park. Organized by the Jonathan Tourney Memorial Foundation, the annual fundraiser celebrates Jonathan’ s life while raising money for scholarships benefiting Pine-Richland School District athletes.
Since its founding, the 501( c)( 3) organization has awarded scholarships to graduating seniors, and this year’ s event marks what would have been Jonathan’ s senior year of high school. Organizers hope to make this final memorial race the largest yet, with the community coming together to remember Jonathan and support local students. n
