SPONSORED CONTENT BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT SPONSORED CONTENT TELLING YOUR STORY THROUGH FOOD I magine going to a food tasting for your wedding where the menu is comprised of flavors from your first date with your soon-to-be spouse, or a birthday celebration where the food is your childhood favorite. These are the flavors that Just In Thyme owner Justin Harrison likes working with—the ones that tell stories. “We interview our clients about their stories so we can tell those stories through food,” he said. “If it’s a wedding, we ask what their first meal was. What did one first cook for the other? Even if it was a fail, there’s humor in that and a story unto itself. For funerals, we often do the deceased’s favorite food, and help tell their story by sharing what they enjoyed with everyone.” In addition to the Evergreen Room, Just In Thyme’s own event venue just over the Hampton border in Richland, it is a preferred caterer for Twelve Oaks Mansion, The Amor, and Armstrong Farms. However Justin and his partner John can turn any space into a backdrop for your story. With John’s more than 20 years of catering experience, they can host up to 80 people at their facility, which is complete with commercial kitchen, or they can bring the party to you. And while they can make an elevated MTO-style meal for you, like the one they’re doing for a couple who first met at Sheetz, or meatloaf and mashed potatoes just like Mom used to make, some of their original creations have received praise from clients as well. “People rave about our Parmesan Crusted Chicken, which is finished with lemons, capers, tomato concasse and white wine sauce,” Justin said. “Our crostini and our pulled pork are also very popular when they’re on the menu.” In addition to catering, Just In Thyme can handle your entire event from start to finish, making it a one- stop shop for any celebration. There is no minimum party size—so a romantic dinner for two at home is always an option—and the team routinely handles events of 250 guests or more. “Beyond 250 guests, we have the ability to ramp up our staff quickly and handle whatever the event needs,” Justin said. “We can also plan the event from start to finish, including arrangements for flowers, live music, karaoke, photography, videography, and more. We can really take a lot off of people’s plates when it comes to event planning, so they have more freedom to actually enjoy the event.” Just In Thyme will travel to any location within an hour of Pittsburgh and farther upon special arrangement, so long as necessary facilities are available for catering functions.
