about your whole self, achieving your
goals and enjoying your life as a result.
There needs to be a link between your
body, your nutrition, and your soul – you
have to believe in being healthy and the
importance of staying healthy. I bring all
of those components together.”
lizabeth Andreano isn’t just a National
Academy of Sports Medicine personal
trainer, she’s a whole-body advocate for
her clients.
Years ago, fitness was defined by the
intensity of exercising and how we looked
on the “outside.” The dramatic rise of
chronic diseases (leading cause of death
and disability in the U.S.) has made the
concept of fitness evolve and expand to
include the impact a variety of healthy choices
can make on the “inside” of our bodies as well.
Think of “healthy” as the “new skinny”!

for a Better You
Another very important fact I bring up to
my clients is our generation’s longer life
expectancy. So, the great news is that we are
living longer; the not-so-great news is that
we are not aging in a healthy way! Balance, stability, coordination and
core strength are vital elements and the foundation of our functional
strength. Incorporating these elements as part of a training program
today will result in better mobility, safety and independence in our older
years. Today’s clients need a safe, integrated program that considers the
functional capability of each individual.
“I wanted to be someone who really dealt with the
whole package of being healthy in all aspects of
life.”
And that’s where Andreano excels.
Working out of a personal studio in her
home, each client starts with a free,
introductory consultation to
determine what their particular
goals are. From there, a course
is planned out that includes
nutrition, exercise and other
positive steps to attain that goal.
“It’s not all exercise, or all diet.
In fact, I don’t even believe
in diets, I believe in making
healthy choices,” she said. “It’s
about being conscientious

Andreano said that her own personal
journey with healthy living has brought
her around to where she is today.
“As I got older and became a mom, I
started to understand that fitness is more
than just exercise,” she said. “We all live
busy lives, and how often my clients
come to see me really depends on their
current situation. I’m not a nutritionist; I
provide general commonsense guidelines.
For someone who is looking to reach more aggressive goals, I do work
with a nutritionist, and we certainly can chart a path for that person as
well. The whole point is that everyone’s unique and their definition of
‘healthy’ is just as unique. My goal is to help them get there.”
Some of the tools she employs include a client portal on her website,
where clients can update their plans and keep track of progress. They
can also find helpful information regarding achieving their goals.
And while Andreano encourages everyone to embrace a healthy lifestyle,
she said the majority of her clients tend to be females approaching
the middle-age mark or older, mainly because that’s when our bodies
change the most and diet and exercise don’t have the same effects
that they did when we were younger.
“A lot of people are looking to lose weight as well as tone and
firm up. As we get older, our muscles don’t respond the way
they used to,” she said. “It’s just part of your life, and that’s
my ultimate goal to get people to naturally adopt a healthy
lifestyle though small changes. You have to have a plan.”
