If you are 50 years old or older and reside in Washington, Fayette or Greene county or a member of a senior center within these counties your invited to participate in the Senior Games that will be held at Peters Township High School. Pre registration required. Interested adults age 60 and older should bring proof of Washington county residency (example=driver’s license). Proxy forms available and must be filled out prior to distribution date. Day: July 17 Time: 10 a.m. – Noon Location: Peters Township Recreation Center Fee: Proof of residency required SENIOR LUNCHEON Luncheons are held at the Recreation Center on the second Wednesday of each month. We ask that you bring a covered dish and share with others. The second hour we provide entertainment or a lecture. Starting in June, the luncheons turn into picnics and will be held in the park at shelter 4. After lunch then a one hour cruise on a sternwheeler along the Muskingum River and round out the day with a wine tasting at Terra Cotta Winery. Day: July 24 Departure Time: 6:45 a.m. Return Time: 8 p.m. Fee: $115 per person Registration Deadline: June 24 Move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. Handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance; a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
