Unlocking Your Brain’ s Ultimate Potential

Jodi Ripepi, CEO and nurse practitioner at BARE Skin and Laser in Washington, PA, spends a lot of time talking with women. As a former Level 1 trauma nurse with 25 years of experience as a women’ s health nurse practitioner, she decided to further her career and dive into the world of aesthetic medicine.

Much of her time is spent performing laser procedures, administering facial injectables, and educating patients about skin health. A common thread among many of her clients is more than skin deep— some experience serious mental health struggles.
According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, 1 in 5 U. S. adults experience mental illness each year, with women more likely than men to be diagnosed with depression or PTSD.
Though BARE Skin and Laser offers an extensive menu of aesthetic procedures, Ripepi wanted to focus on the full health of her clients by offering treatments such as vitamin injections, antioxidants, and hydration IVs.
Noticing the trend of so many patients struggling with mental health, she and her husband, Dr. Vince Ripepi— board-certified orthopedic surgeon and medical director of BARE Skin and Laser— researched treatments they could offer to improve their clients’ lives from more than just an aesthetic perspective.
They were introduced to EXOMIND, an FDA-cleared non-invasive brain stimulation treatment that has proven results in enhanced mental health and emotional wellness. This groundbreaking device is being used to benefit patients with anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, sleep disturbances, post-menopausal brain fog, and binge eating, and those in the process of smoking cessation.
The science behind EXOMIND, transcranial magnetic stimulation( TMS), has been extensively studied for over 50 years and has been FDA-approved since 2008. Institutions like Harvard, Mayo Clinic, and the National Institute of Mental Health all endorse TMS as an effective alternative for a range of mental health conditions.
EXOMIND offers shorter, more comfortable sessions with advanced brain mapping and real-time adjustments, and unlike traditional TMS, it can be safely administered by trained technicians in non-clinical settings at lower cost and in fewer sessions. BARE is delighted to be the first practice in Southwestern PA to offer EXOMIND.
During the treatment, a comfortable applicator is placed on the head and magnetic pulses stimulate the left prefrontal cortex of the brain.“ These little pulses target the area of the brain that is responsible for mood, executive cognitive functioning, and decisionmaking. It increases neural plasticity, which naturally decreases with age. This increases connectivity of the brain cells and enhances their function,” says Ripepi. The recommended treatment protocol is onceweekly, 30-minute sessions for six weeks.
New research shows possible remission of symptoms for a year or more. The clients already treated with EXOMIND at BARE have reported significant relief of depression and anxiety symptoms, improved sleep, and an enhanced ability to focus.
Through the month of October, BARE Skin and Laser is offering a promotion— purchase a six-session EXOMIND package and receive one free session valued at $ 500. Contact BARE at 724.338.4256 or visit bareskin-laser. com to schedule.
