TOWNSHIP UPCOMING EVENTS

• Trick or Treat in Peters Township will once again take place on Halloween, which is on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 6:00 p. m. – 8:00 p. m.

• The Drug Take Back Event will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 10:00 a. m. – 2:00 p. m. at 4 locations throughout Peters Township. The four locations are: Heisler’ s Market, The Country Store, Giant Eagle & Giant Eagle Market District Express. Bring your expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs to these locations that day and help prevent pill abuse and theft in our community.

• The Peters Township Public Library’ s Novel November Event will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Peters Township High School Auditorium. This year’ s event features author S. A. Cosby. Visit ptlibrary. org for more details on the event and how to purchase tickets.

• The Holiday-Kickoff Event is currently scheduled for Friday, December 5, 2025 at 6:00 p. m. at the Community Recreation Center. Details are contained in the Parks & Recreation pages and will be posted online as the event nears.

BUDGET SCHEDULE

The Township has commenced the 2026 Budget process. Four workshops will be held, currently scheduled for September 29th, October 6th, October 20th, and November 3rd. Council will conduct a public hearing on the 2026 Budget on November 24, 2025. All workshop meetings are currently scheduled for 7:30 p. m. at the Peters Township Municipal Building. The public hearing is scheduled for 7:30 p. m. The 2026 Budget will be available for public review on November 10, 2025, via the Township website. The Budget Adoption, the last step of the Budget process, is tentatively scheduled for either December 8, 2025 or December 15, 2025. Information will be made available through our Township website during the entire budget process.

SNOW BIRD GARBAGE COLLECTION DISCOUNT

Many residents take an extended vacation to warmer weather during the winter months. Residents that are away from their residence for 3 consecutive months or more are eligible to be added to the snowbird list. Once added, your garbage service and garbage bill are suspended while away. To be placed on the snowbird list, you must call the Peters Township Municipal Building at 724-941-4180 prior to leaving. You will be asked to provide your name, address, and dates you will be away during the winter.
