Peters Township graduate opens her own bridal resale shop , Bridal Maven , in Dormont .

peters Township High School grad Hannah Balash is opening her first business in a pretty tight economy . But if anyone can succeed , it ’ s Balash , with enough moxie to define her own future .
Soon , the borough of Dormont will be getting a new bridal salon , called Bridal Maven — billed as the only bridal resale shop in Pittsburgh . It will have an array of designer bridal gowns that you can pick up for a song .
After receiving her master ’ s degree from the Chicago College for Performing Arts at Roosevelt University , Balash — who has a master ’ s in Vocal Performance and specializes in opera — moved to New York to pursue her dream . But she found that living in the Big Apple was expensive ! So she took a job at a bridal salon , and sold her first wedding dress in September 2013 .
Balash went on to become the senior stylist at Lovely Bride , in its flagship store in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan . She has a special gift for helping women make the right choice for the dress of a lifetime — because a wedding dress is not just about the cut or the fabric , it ’ s about an emotional connection .
Balash ’ s own wedding at St . Benedict the Abbot Church ( now part of St . John XXIII Parish ) in Peters Township may have provided at least part of the inspiration for her unique
