FROM THE PUBLISHER CEO & PUBLISHER Wayne Dollard Among the many gems in our community is Peters Township Public Library. This month, the library celebrates its 60th anniversary! One of the many things that make PTPL a top-notch library is the quality programs it provides that speak to the entire community. Events related to heroin and opioid abuse, tax reassessments, WW1 and WW2 history, financial literacy, Alzheimer’s and early literacy are just a few of the wide variety of programs the PTPL’s talented staff plans and promotes. “Successful public libraries are no longer mere depositories for books—they are now places that transform lives through the exchange of ideas,” says Township Manager Paul Lauer. “No library has embraced this new paradigm with more enthusiasm than the Peters Township Library, resulting in a community actively engaged in personal development through the numerous programs and events sponsored by our library.” For more on the history and progress of PTPL, see “Peters Township’s Crown Jewel” on page 52.
