From our brand new kindergarten
students to our confident high school
seniors, the first day of school was filled with
excitement in Peters Township! The school
year began following the Labor Day weekend
on September 6, and we welcomed 4,136
students back to the classroom.
With prospects for a great year ahead,
students were greeted by an equally excited
staff anxious to get started. Here are some
photo highlights from the first day of school.

throughout the school year, be sure to follow

Staying Connected with Our Schools
Staying connected with Peters Township School is easier than
ever with our online tools. For parents of students in our District,
the key to all of these connections is the parent PowerSchool
account. By creating this account in our District-wide student
database, parents may view all of their children with one account
with a single username and password. In the parent portal,
you will see grades, attendance, bus stop information, email
notification and school bulletins for each child in your family.
Two important features of the parent portal will also shape
the way communication is sent home to your family. Through
the Email Notification feature, you can elect to have grade and
attendance information sent to your email on a schedule that
works for your family. No logging in, no remembering to check –
the information comes automatically to your inbox.
Parents should also be sure to check the School Messenger
feature as well. School Messenger is our partner to provide
email blasts to parents about events and activities, as well as
the automated calls that parents receive for delays/closing or
emergencies in our schools. This feature of the parent portal
allows you to access previous messages that have been sent in the
past 30 days and to customize your family’s contact information.
Instructions on how to update this information may be found
under Email News on the District website.
Community members who do not have children in our school,
but want to stay in touch with school activities and events may
now sign up for District email news as well. Visit the Email News
page of the website and complete the online form to be added
to the list.
