PT GRADUATING SENIOR NAMED 2025 GIRL SCOUT OF DISTINCTION
Nickjay Saini, a graduating senior at Peters Township High School, was named a 2025 Girl Scout of Distinction for her impactful Gold Award project:“ STEM for All.”
She taught STEM concepts to underserved students in Pittsburgh’ s Hill District, using LEGO blocks and the First LEGO League curriculum. Partnering with the University of Pittsburgh and supported by her robotics team, Girls of Steel, Nickjay inspired young learners to explore engineering and robotics.
She plans to major in computer engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and continues to mentor children in STEM.
LABOURÉ LADIES GUILD TO HOLD ANNUAL FLEA MARKET
The Labouré Ladies Guild of St. Catherine Labouré Parish will hold its annual flea market,“ Timeless Treasures,” from 9 a. m. to 5 p. m. Friday, July 18, and 9 a. m. to 1 p. m. Saturday, July 19, at St. Louise de Marillac Church in the LeGras Parish Center( lower level), located at 320 McMurray Road in Upper St. Clair.
Sale items will include jewelry, gently used children’ s clothing to size 6, toys, decorative items, knick-knacks, kitchen items, holiday decorations, linens, tools, books, and much more. There will also be a boutique offering better-quality items.
Note that due to fire safety regulations, strollers are not permitted inside LeGras Parish Center.
ST. DAVID’ S 3RD ANNUAL RUMMAGE SALE
Don’ t miss the St. David’ s Episcopal Church 3rd Annual Rummage Sale on Saturday, June 28, from 8 a. m. to 1 p. m. at 905 East McMurray Road in Venetia. Early-bird shoppers can get first pick from 8 to 9 a. m. for a $ 5 entry fee. A half-price sale kicks off at 12:30 p. m.
Items for sale will include jewelry, household goods, linens, seasonal decor, books, toys, tools, garden items, furniture and sporting goods. Please note: no clothing or shoes will be sold.
CUB SCOUTS SUPPORT LOCAL VETERANS
Cub Scout Pack 1313 in McMurray made a significant impact by organizing a community service project to support homeless veterans at City Mission.
Eight fifth grade boys raised an impressive $ 3,200— far surpassing their $ 500 goal— through a self-scripted fundraising video with help from younger scouts.
With the funds, they were able to purchase clothing, toiletries, snacks, and coffee, and hosted a pizza party for veterans— along with donating $ 2,000 to City Mission.
Their efforts displayed leadership, generosity and community spirit. Well done!
THE MCMURRAY ART LEAGUE TO PRESENT SUMMER EVENT
Mark your calendars for Art at the Farm: A Community Celebration of the Art that will take place July 31 – Aug. 2 at Gilfillan Farm, located at 110 Orr Rd. Hosted by the McMurray Art League and the Historical Society of Upper St. Clair, this unique outdoor event invites visitors to watch artists paint in the scenic open air of the historic farm from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. daily. The celebration wraps up in the Gilfillan Gala on Saturday evening from 6 to 9 p. m., featuring live music by Bertha and The Belles, food trucks and an exhibition where guests can view and purchase original artwork. Tickets for the gala are $ 5 in advance or $ 10 at the gate, available at mcmurrayartleague. com. Proceeds benefit the McMurray Art League.

AUBERLE HOSTS 37TH ANNUAL ALL- STAR BANQUET
The stars were shining brightly as Auberle celebrated the outstanding successes of many of its program participants at the 37th Annual All-Star Banquet held on March 26. The organization recognized the hard work, determination and resilience of participants in overcoming significant challenges.
The celebration also brought together community members and supporters to acknowledge the transformative impact of Auberle’ s programs on the lives of the individuals, families and communities it serves. n
