BASEBALL FIELD RENOVATIONS

Peters Township recently celebrated the completion of a major renovation project at Fields 1 and 2 in Peterswood Park, a $ 2.5 million investment in the community’ s youth and high school baseball programs. The project included state-of-the-art upgrades such as new lighting systems, synthetic turf infields, and the construction of modern dugouts and press boxes. These improvements enhance both the safety and functionality of the fields, which are heavily used by Peters Township Youth Baseball and Peters Township High School Baseball teams throughout the year.
Peters Township Council honored Joe Maize for his years of service as baseball coach, athletic director, and Parks & Recreation board member by naming the field in his honor. The project was completed by Raffle Construction, LLC and supported in part by $ 1.15 million in grant funding through Pennsylvania’ s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program( RACP, $ 650,000) and the Local Share Account( LSA, $ 500,000) program. The Township credits the strong advocacy and support of State Representative Natalie Mihalek and State Senator Camera Bartolotta for helping secure the funding. With these enhancements, Peterswood Park is now better equipped to serve as a central hub for local baseball and a source of community pride for years to come.
