PTDT not only competes at Nationals , they also dance at home football games and participate in Match for a Marine , a fundraiser held by Peters Township wrestling team . They also volunteer and perform at Uncathlon for Special Olympics , Dance Clinics to teach young dancers , and many other community events . Their season begins in May and ends in February with the Nationals competition .
PTDT will be heading into its 20th year in the 2024 / 2025 season and the coaching team of Schuster and Deliere show no signs of slowing down ! Tryouts for the new season begin shortly and the team will begin training for their 6th National Title ! n
Nationals since 2020 . Covid stole a year , when they were unable to compete in 2021 , but the team has dominated the Small Varsity Hip Hop division winning gold in 2020 , 2022 , 2023 and 2024 .
Teams from all over the United States travel to Orlando , Florida after earning a bid to compete at their UDA summer dance camps . More than 625 teams headed to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex to compete this year .
Peters Township took two teams — Hip Hop and Game Day . Five teams from Western PA represented their schools at this dance competition including Canon Mac , Upper Saint Clair , South Fayette , Chartiers Valley and Peters Township .
The Team took home the championship in Hip Hop and they came in fourth in the Nation for Game Day — their second year competing in the Game Day category .
When asked why she thinks this team is so successful year after year in the Small Senior Hip Hop Category , senior captain , Anna Radnor , said , “ It ’ s the love we hold for one other , we hold each other accountable both in dance and outside of dance . Our choreographer Davin Lawson gives us beautiful pieces every year and our Coach Nique who has so much faith in us . She not only makes us better dancers but also makes us better people .”
