Conveniently located at 614 East McMurray Road in the Municipal Complex , adjacent to the Peters Township Public Library , the Tennis Center welcomes all . Unlike exclusive clubs , there are no membership requirements or guest fees , ensuring that everyone can partake .
At the helm of this dynamic hub is Director Mike Schuster , supported by a stellar team of instructors including Bill Pilardi , Chuck Taylor , Mark Pemu , and more . Their expertise fuels a comprehensive Junior Development Program and a myriad of classes catering to varying proficiency levels , ensuring that both novices and seasoned players alike can refine their skills and deepen their love for the game .
Operating weekdays from 8 a . m . to 9 p . m ., and on weekends from 8 a . m . to 7 p . m ., the Tennis Center is an active place throughout the week . “ During the outdoor season , the Peters Township Boys and Girls High School Tennis Teams play at our facility for all of their matches ,” says Schuster . “ We also host a variety of leagues , teams , tournaments , and other events .”
Come October , the transition to the indoor season sees the installation of the Tennis Bubble over the clay courts , extending the playing season well into the colder months . This feat wouldn ’ t be possible without the invaluable assistance of the Peters Township High School Football and Tennis Teams , whose dedication ensures the smooth setup and dismantling of the bubble .
Beyond its role as a sporting venue , the Tennis Center emerges as a cornerstone of community engagement . For over two decades , adult tennis groups have congregated here , creating lasting bonds amid spirited matches . The recent refurbishment of both hardcourts and clay courts underscores the commitment to providing top-tier facilities , with online court reservations further streamlining the user experience .
In the wake of a pandemic-induced hiatus , Tennis Fun Day has returned — a cherished tradition . This Labor Day weekend , the Tennis & Pickleball Fun Day promises a jubilant celebration of all things racquet sports , replete with classes , games , and delectable fare from the beloved Hogfathers BBQ Food Truck .
