STUDENTS OF MCMURRAY MUSIC STUDIO PERFORM BENEFIT RECITAL
Students of the McMurray Music Studio performed a Peters Township Piano Performance benefit recital on Saturday , March 23 , at Center Presbyterian Church .

They raised $ 800 for the ALS Association of Western Pennsylvania . ALS stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis . It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord . Famous people who have had ALS include baseball player Lou Gehrig , physicist Steven Hawking , actor David Niven and former vice-president Henry Wallace .
Past student-run charity recitals have benefited The Peters Township Food Pantry , The International Red Cross to give aid to Ukraine and the American Cancer Society .
This year ’ s benefit recital included works by a diverse selection of composers , including Chopin , Beethoven , Liszt , Yiruma and Chuck Berry — to name a few . MEET THE KEYSTONE CHORUS
We ’ re the Men of the Keystone Chorus ! Hailing from Bethel Park , the chorus is an all-male , a cappella group , and has been singing songs in the Barbershop style since 1957 . Our members range in age from 10 to 91 and come from all walks of life . We are retired doctors and contractors ; working tech and medical professionals ; amateur singers and musical professionals ; just to name a few !
Our repertoire continues to grow and now includes not only Barbershop classics like “ Goodbye , My Coney Island Baby ,” but also some a cappella renditions of more widely known tunes , such as “ Route 66 .”
Each August , we perform an annual show as part of the Dean Streator Summer Concert Series . In addition , we also enjoy performing at local retirement centers , community events and fairs , personal celebrations , our annual holiday show , and more — the opportunities are endless !

LABOURÉ LADIES GUILD OF ST . CATHERINE LABOURÉ PARISH TO HOLD ANNUAL FLEA MARKET
The Labouré Ladies Guild of St . Catherine Labouré Parish will hold its annual flea market “ Timeless Treasures ” from 9 a . m . to 5 p . m . Friday , July 19 and 9 a . m . to 1 p . m . Saturday , July 20 at St . Louise deMarillac Church in the LeGras Parish Center ( lower level ), 320 McMurray Road , Upper St . Clair .
Sale items will include jewelry , gently used children ’ s clothing to size 6 , toys , decorative items , knick knacks , kitchen items , holiday decorations , linens , tools , books , some furniture and much more . There will also be a boutique offering better quality items .
Due to fire restrictions , strollers are not permitted inside LeGras Parish Center .
MCDONALD ’ S RESTAURANTS ACROSS THE TRI-STATE AREA TEAM UP WITH THE
PENS FOR A CAUSE
Fans of the Pittsburgh Penguins recently found a new way to cheer on the team while also supporting an amazing local charity . And it scored in a big way !
At the beginning of the NHL season , McDonald ’ s restaurants across the Tri-State area teamed up with the Pens for a new , limited-time promotion : Co-branded cold soft drink insulated sleeves . Local Mickey D ’ s sold the sleeves for just six dollars and a portion of the proceeds benefited Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh and Morgantown .
The grand total ? $ 60,000 to support families who travel to Morgantown and Pittsburgh seeking life-saving care for their children .
RMHC provides a home away from home for those families so they can focus on their children ’ s recovery .
“ I ’ m so pleased this promotion raised significant funds to underwrite the vital work RMHC is doing in this community ,” says McDonald ’ s Owner / Operator Art Alamo .
