BEAUTY AND THE BEAST AT PTHS
In April , Peters Township High School invited the community to “ Be Our Guest ” as the students performed Disney ’ s Beauty and the Beast . The first full-scale musical in the new auditorium was a favorite of young and old as guests watched Belle ’ s love transform the Beast during this outstanding production . GET TO KNOW : MARISA MCFEATERS
In any visit to our schools you will encounter talented and dedicated individuals who work hard to make Peters Township one of the best Districts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania . In this issue , we would like everyone to Get to Know Mrs . Marisa McFeaters , who teaches first grade at Bower Hill Elementary School . She has been a member of our Bower Hill team since 2005 , and we took a few minutes to help you Get to Know Mrs . McFeaters !
What made you want to become a teacher ?
As long as I can remember , I always wanted to be a teacher . My aunt was a first-grade teacher and I loved checking her papers , visiting her classroom , and hearing her stories when I was in elementary school . As I continued through high school , my favorite extracurricular activities always involved working with children . When I started college and began my courses in education , I knew it was the career for me .

What other interesting jobs have you held ?
In high school , I had a walking paper carrier route . I delivered about 30-40 daily newspapers every morning at 5 a . m . One of my favorite jobs in high school was working at a Billy Boy ’ s Ice Cream stand . Making ice cream creations was a perfect summer job .
What is your favorite thing to do outside the classroom ?
Outside of the classroom , my favorite thing to do is being a mom . I have 3 kids who are in lots of different extracurricular activities , which I love attending and watching . We also love going on family adventures both big and small .
What has been one of your favorite projects / events / days at school ?
At school , one of my favorite days is Bower Hill Day . Bower Hill Day allows a full day of fun activities for kids to be kids . It is so enjoyable watching the kids do all the fun activities with their friends .
What do you wish every student would know after their time in your classroom ?
I want every student to know that they are important . I want them to know that they can do hard things . As long as you try , you can accomplish anything you dream of .
