PETERS TOWNSHIP FARMERS MARKET READY FOR 2022 SEASON
The Peters Township Farmers Market is ready to welcome residents and friends for its 2022 season . Opening day was June 1 , and the market will run each Wednesday from 3 to 6 p . m . until Sept . 28 .
The market is located in the parking lot of St . David ’ s Episcopal Church in Venetia . This year ’ s vendors include appearances by BadAzzBBQ , Cousins Maine Lobster , Fox In A Box Art Studio , Goose Run Farm , Jodikino ’ s Family Farm , Kindred Flower Farm , LaVigneta Winery , The Olive Tap , The Pie Place , Pitaland , Simmons Farm , Sweets Without Wheat , Uncle Fester ’ s Favorites , Vintage Porch Signs and Wu ’ s Shaved Ice ( not all vendors are scheduled every week of the market ).
The Peters Township Farmers Market provides an opportunity for residents of the South Hills to buy local , fresh products for their families directly from the farmers and artisans who produce them !
The market hopes to encourage relationships between producer and consumer and to limit the distance food and goods travel from farm to table . A ministry of St . David ’ s Episcopal Church , it is designed to provide a place for neighbors to meet and relate while they shop for excellent , locally grown food .

ENCORE ON THE LAKE HOSTS GRAND OPENING
Encore on the Lake , a new senior living membership community , hosted its grand opening on May 18 . The unique , service-enriched community is located at 243 McDowell Lane in Canonsburg .
The four-story community offers 80 apartment homes as part of an independent living residence . It is designed for active adults , but includes future access to higher levels of care , if needed , at Presbyterian SeniorCare Network personal care , assisted living or assisted living dementia care communities .
“ This membership community is designed to promote wellness , vitality and a socially engaging , independent lifestyle ,” says Bobbi Jo Haden , vice president of retirement services for Presbyterian SeniorCare Network .
Encore on the Lake is located on a privately owned peninsula that juts into Canonsburg Lake . The property offers a natural setting , with the lake , woods , wildlife and terraces that lend themselves to exploring and enjoying outdoor activities . Members have convenient access to local and national retailers , restaurants and health and wellness services .
“ Encore on the Lake provides seniors with more living options ,” says Haden . “ They can remain in the area where they have established personal , civic and community relationships .”
The residences feature one or two bedrooms , open floor plans , private balconies , granite countertops , stainless steel appliances , underground parking , smart home technology and more .
