eters Township’s Nicole Munne is
a natural when it comes to science.
Presenting her research project, titled
“Development of an in-vitro Human
Liver Model for Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
(NAFLD),” at this year’s Covestro Pittsburgh
Regional Science & Engineering Fair (PRSEF),
Nicole placed third in the prestigious competition.
The Covestro PRSEF is a competition for
student researchers in grades 6 through 12 from
schools across 22 counties in Western PA and
Maryland. More than 1,000 students competed
in this year’s Carnegie Science Center’s 79th
annual Covestro Pittsburgh Regional Science &
Engineering Fair—one of the oldest and largest
science fairs in the nation. This was Nicole’s fourth
year as part of PRSEF.
