WHAT’ S NEWS IN PETERS TOWNSHIP
“ Words of Wisdom” on June 14, 15 and 16 at 7:30 p. m. and June 16 at 2 p. m. in the newly renovated Pope Benedict Center.
Doors will open 20 minutes before each performance for an interactive pre-show titled“ Words of Wisdom”— depicting a fun day at the beach with people enjoying the sun and friends, while reflecting on word and song about peace and love.
“ Godspell, Jr.” centers on a group of disciples helping Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs— ranging in style from pop to vaudeville— is employed as the story of Jesus’ life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus’ messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.
The show will feature Nicholas Traficante as Jesus Christ, Jaydon Whisker as John the Baptist / Judas and senior Mary Waigand as a disciple, and will be rounded out with a cast of more than 50 local students.
“ Godspell, Jr.” is a show perfect for all ages! Tickets will be available at the door, and various raffles— along with a concession stand— will be available with proceeds benefiting charity.
