Tour de Fleece
Peters Township Public Library recently received all five silver star merits
for demonstrating a specialty in five core literacies and is now deemed a
Silver Star Pennsylvania Library Association (PaLA), #PAForward Library.
This means that your library is part of a larger statewide initiative that is
powering progress and elevating the quality of life in PA. Thank you to
the Library Staff, Board, and Foundation, as well as the Peters Township
Administration, Council, and Community for their support!
Saturday, July 15, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Each summer cyclists gather to conquer
the Tour de France, a three-week adventure
of dedication, challenges, and achieving
personal and team goals. Another group
of spinners gather in person and online
forums to do the same, but these wheels
don't power bicycles. For the over 10,000
participants of last year's Tour de Fleece,
the spinning wheels are for making yarn!
Members of the Washington Spinners and
Weavers will be bringing a little part of the
Tour de Fleece, including the animals that
host the yarn! See several types of spinning
wheels in action and watch
the process from fiber to
yarn. No registration
necessary, just drop
in. Please contact
the Washington
Spinners and Weavers
at [email protected]
for more information.
Community Day
Saturday, June 24, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Plan on visiting the library's booth, #114 near the playground, on Community
Day! Children can play bean bag toss and make a craft, and there will be
ongoing demonstrations of some of the library’s online resources. Don’t forget
to try your luck at winning a prize with our “PTPL Wheel of Fortune”!
