in the LOOP What’s news in Peters Township PETERS TOWNSHIP FARMERS MARKET The third annual Peters Township Farmers Market opened on May 18. The first two years were extremely successful and this year aims to be the best yet with over 30 vendors, local entertainment, dining and a new Healthy Eating Series geared toward children. Products offered will include fresh produce from five different farmers, eggs, milk, bread, cheese, beef/chicken/pork, pasta, cured meat, condiments, wine, jams/dips, olive oil/vinegars, honey, hummus, maple syrup, organic fresh pressed juice, fresh cut flowers, prepared foods and sweet treats such as kettle corn, shaved ice, pies, cookies, biscotti and more. Local artisans will be offering handmade home and body care products, jewelry and more. The new Healthy Eating Series feature is geared toward kids and families to help further educate them on making healthy eating choices, why buying fresh/local is important, and to teach kids where their food comes from. The market will offer tours that give customers the chance to visit local farms like Freedom Farms, Logan Family Farms and Kern Farms 36 724.942.0940 TO ADVERTISE | Peters Township to learn more about how their food is grown. Nutrition experts will conduct kid-focused, engaging activities and fun food challenges at the market. Pittsburgh Farm to Table and Pathways to Smartcare Wellness will be doing a local food challenge to engage kids on buying local and eating fresh produce. Additionally, each week will feature live entertainment from local performers, area children’s groups and chef cooking demos from local restaurants and culinary schools. The Peters Township Farmers Market will be held every Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at St. David’s Episcopal Church located at 905 E. McMurray Road, Venetia 15367. He and 69 other elite drivers from PA are among the 1,613 newly inducted into the company’s honorary organization. Globally 8,703 active UPS drivers are members of the Circle of Honor.
