KEEP WRIGHT’ S ALIGHT: MARDI GRAS CANDLELIGHT CONCERT ON FEB. 17
Join in supporting Wright’ s United Methodist Church— which has served Peters Township for more than 200 years— at its next Candlelight Concert! With the church facing challenges and a smaller congregation, local arts organizations including The Wright Company, the South Hills Children’ s Choir and Kathy’ s Music are helping to keep its light shining by creating opportunities for young people to share music and theater.
The special Mardi Gras concert takes place Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 7 p. m. at Wright’ s United Methodist Church in Venetia and features talented musicians performing lively jazz and blues selections. Suggested donations are $ 25 per seat, with all proceeds supporting the church and its continued role in the South Hills community. PTHS TROUPE # 185 TO PRESENT‘ THE LITTLE MERMAID’ FOR THE SPRING MUSICAL
Dive under the sea with Disney’ s“ The Little Mermaid” at Peters Township High School! This beloved musical will be presented by Thespian Troupe # 185 April 16 – 19, featuring dazzling music, colorful characters and plenty of heart. Performances are Thursday – Saturday at 7 p. m., with a 2 p. m. matinee on Sunday.
Tickets are $ 10 for students and $ 15 for adults— don’ t miss this enchanting production brought to the stage by PTHS students. Ticket information will be posted on the district website, and can be searched on ludus. com closer to the event.
KEYNOTES MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION
Keynotes is accepting applications for its 2026 music scholarship competition, set for May 9 at the Fine Arts Theater of Mt. Lebanon High School. More than $ 16,000 in cash awards will be available for outstanding young musicians.
Eligible applicants include instrumentalists under age 26( as of June 1, 2025) and vocalists under age 30. Students must be full-time music majors at a college, university, or music school— or graduating high school seniors who have been accepted into a full-time music major program.
Applicants must also be legal Pennsylvania residents for at least one year, or out-of-state students who attend school in Pennsylvania and can provide

PV’ S GOT TALENT 2025 FEATURED A VARIETY OF PERFORMANCES
Pleasant Valley Elementary’ s PV’ s Got Talent show lit up the Peters Township Middle School Auditorium back in November, celebrating student creativity and community spirit.
During the event, Gwendolyn Wile delivered a high-energy vocal and dance performance of“ Crazy Train,” paying tribute to her favorite artist, Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away earlier this year.
The evening featured enthusiastic support from families and friends, along with teacher judges and emceed by principal Dr. Greg Marquis.
Proceeds and canned food donations from the event benefited the St. John XXIII Interfaith Food Pantry.
