NO KNOCK LIST
The Police Department provides residents with the ability to stop door to door sales at your house .
Peters Township provides residents the option to sign up for the “ No Knock List ”. As a resident , you can choose not to have vendors visit your home in the course of their door-todoor sales . This list is valid for five years , at which time you will be required to re-apply if you wish to continue enrollment .
Complete the short sign-up form at peterstownship . com / noknocklist . Although the Police Department collects additional information , only your address and date of sign up will be visible on the list . Your name will not be included on any public list . This list will be updated on a regular basis and made available to the approved vendors .
If a vendor has knocked on your door , even though your property is on the no knock list , call 911 immediately to ensure an officer can respond promptly to the area and investigate the issue while the vendor is still in Peters Township .
The “ No Knock List ” does not apply to non-profit organizations .

WHEN ARE PERMITS NEEDED ?
As spring approaches , residents start to plan upcoming projects . See the list below for what requires / doesn ’ t require a permit .
Permits Required
• New construction / additions to a structure
• Exterior alteration of a residential structure
• Plumbing , electrical , or structural changes
• Sheds , garages , decks , pools , pool houses , hot tubs , chicken coops
• Fences & walls
• Modifications to the grade or slope of a wall
• Demolition
Permits NOT Required
• Internal remodeling of a residential structure , provided it does not involve utilities or structural changes
• Replacement of siding , doors , or windows ( unless size is being changed ) on a residential structure
• Roof repair on residential structures
• New or alterations to landscaping on a residential lot
• New or alterations to driveways and porches ( unless porch is enclosed ) for individual residential dwelling units
It is recommended that you reach out to the Peters Township Planning Department to determine if you need a permit or for assistance with completing an application to receive a permit . Our permits can be found at peterstownship . com by clicking on the “ Permit Applications ” button . Each permit listed also contains a checklist of items that need to be supplied along with the permit , which can be filed with the Planning Department electronically by sending the documents to permitapplications @ peterstownship . com . The time frame for approval of the permit varies based on the type of structure / modification proposed .
