PT LIBRARY KICKS OFF THE NEA BIG READ

The Peters Township Public Library will launch its National Endowment for the Arts Big Read program , exploring Circe by Madeline Miller , on April 1 , 2023 . The NEA Big Read is presented in partnership with The Peters Township Library Foundation , Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department , the Peters Township Chamber of Commerce , and the English Department at Washington & Jefferson College with support from the National Endowment for the Arts .

We are excited to bring an NEA Big Read program to the Peters Township and wider Washington County communities with a kickoff event on Saturday , April 1 , from 12 to 2 p . m . Bring the whole family for activities , including a community art project . Hummus Pittsburgh , a Greek food truck , will be on site with food for purchase . Free copies of Circe will be available to the first 100 attendees , with limited copies of our partner kids read , Aru Shah and the End of Time , also available . Throughout April and into May , programs surrounding the themes and topics in Circe will be available for all ages culminating in a virtual visit from author Madeline Miller on Thursday , May 4 , at 6:30 p . m .

An initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest , the NEA Big Read broadens our understanding of our world , our communities , and ourselves through the power of a shared reading experience .
