A MESSAGE FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR , BRIAN SCHILL
Happy New Year and welcome to the year ’ s first issue of IN Peters Township . We want to send you our heartfelt wishes for a healthy , happy , successful 2021 .
We understand that 2020 was a difficult year for everyone but together we made it through thanks to the mutual support for each other . Special thanks go to all of you for supporting our businesses especially those who participated in our Shop / Dine Local & Win program . Please continue to shop local , as these business are the backbone of our community . Show them your support by shopping , purchasing gift cards and promoting them through your social networks . Here ’ s a little information about the chamber . The Peters Township Chamber of Commerce has been serving the businesses and community for over 65 years . Now , with 500 members , the Chamber continues to serve not only Peters Township , but the entire South Hills and northern Washington County ( and beyond !).
Last year , when the pandemic intensified from mid-March through July , the Peters Chamber remained committed to serving our members and to all the local businesses without missing a beat . We continued to serve the needs by offering webinars , assisting with government disaster funding and acting as soundboards & consultants . Our expansive network and strategic partners played a pivotal role in accommodating our members .
Even though the pandemic required a complete reimagining process , the chamber still managed to welcome 80 + new members , host 24 networking events , 20 ribbon cuttings , a groundbreaking , 22 webinars , 7 orientations and a fundraiser . Additionally the chamber spent hundreds of hours assisting members and residents on a 1 to 1 basis . This is a great time to connect with your local chamber whether you are a business , a non-profit , a community organization or a resident .
