FROM THE CEO
Welcome to the February/March issue of IN Peters
Township magazine.
Here’s hoping that spring comes early so we can enjoy all
the outdoor activities and events Peters Township has to
offer.
This issue is packed with stories that illustrate why Peters
Township is one of the best places to live! Starting with our
Police Department, which recently became one of the few
to attain accreditation from the Commonwealth of PA.
“The long-term impact of accreditation results in a more
professional police department and an improved public image. The entire process
lends a greater degree of transparency, accountability, and professionalism to the policy
and procedures of the police department,” says Douglas Grimes, Peters Township
Chief of Police. “Accreditation guides police departments in the proper use of records
management and proper collection of standards of proof that demonstrate compliance
with best practices in policing.” For more, check out our story “Among the Elite” on
page 38.
Congratulations are also in order for PT Girls Tennis Team members freshman
Marra Bruce and sophomore Katarina Wang who captured their first state title. Be sure
to read “Dynamic Duo” on page 36.
The PT Football Team also made school history by playing in their first-ever
WPIAL championship game. Despite their loss to the Gateway Gators, we congratulate
the Indians on a great season!
Over the next few months, as the flowers bloom and trees begin to bud, spring
is prime time to begin your home improvement projects. Check out our home
improvement section for the hottest bathroom and kitchen makeovers, interior
decorating, outdoor living space and more!
