An opening reception will be held on Thursday, March 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Matted photographs and canvases will be on display. A WELL-READ MYSTERY Ages 18 and up Thursday, Feb. 20, 6 to 7 p.m. TRIVIA NIGHT AT THE LIBRARY Ages 16 and up First Thursday of the Month, 7 to 8 p.m. NEW A most heinous crime has been committed at the Seymour Books Memorial Library and Detective Lauren Order needs your help identifying the responsible party. Sign up for a 30-minute time slot to tour the crime scene, review the evidence, and interrogate some suspects as you try to determine which of the accused deserves to be behind bars. CENSUS 2020 24 IMPORTANT FEDERAL TAX INFORMATION The library participates with the IRS to provide a limited number of Federal tax forms for the convenience of the community. As soon as tax forms/publications become available, they are placed in our Tax Distribution Area on the second floor of the library. We also offer AARP Tax-Aide free tax form assistance for low and moderate income taxpayers, with special attention to those 60 and older. Call the Library Services Desk at 724.941.9430 #1 to check for available appointments. Form a team or play solo as you answer questions and enjoy popcorn. We will have a different theme each month. Feb. 6: Required Reads Trivia: Put all of your mandatory school reading to use at this book-themed trivia. Join us as we delve back into Shakespeare, Orwell, Chaucer, Harper Lee, and many more. March 5: Disney Trivia: Calling all Disney buffs! From Walt Disney’s birth in 1901 to today’s remakes and live actions – all things Disney are fair game at this magical night of trivia. This March, households will receive an invitation in the mail to complete the 2020 census. This is more than a population count–it’s an opportunity to shape the future of your community. FAMILY WRITING AND DRAWING WORKSHOP Friday, March 20, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. (an after-hours event!) Award-winning children’s author and illustrator of 18 books, Lindsay Barrett George, widely recognized for her striking illustrations of animals, will be visiting our library for art and literacy activities. Parents and preschool/kindergarten children will discover creative ways to practice early reading, writing, and thinking through art. An autograph session and refreshments will follow. Her book, Inside Mouse, Outside Mouse was the first selection in Pennsylvania’s ‘One Book, Every Young Child’ highlighting the importance of early literacy development in preschoolers.
