F
or over 43 years, Lorenzi Deck Company has been a leader in the
building community. And, over the past several years, they’ve evolved
from working primarily with builders on new construction to working
directly with homeowners to provide solutions for their decking
needs.
“We sold our headquarters on Jefferson Avenue in Washington in the spring
of 2018 to move to our new showroom on Mayview Road in the South HIlls,” said
second generation owner Vince Lorenzi. “And we changed our philosophy in
response to what our customers wanted. We used to do about 70 percent of our
work with builders and 30 percent with the homeowners. Today, about 95 percent
of our business is directly with the homeowner, resurfacing existing decks and
building new decks.”
Vince said the shift to working with homeowners directly resulted from
customers looking for reliable, trustworthy and competent craftsmen to trust their
homes to.
“People rely on installation companies for jobs like this and a lot of customers
told us that they just weren’t comfortable with what they were seeing out there,”
Vince said. “They wanted to deal with a company that had a showroom, that had a
history, that had experienced people who do this kind of work day in and day out
and who have seen it all. They wanted someone who knows the materials inside
and out and we provide all of the above.”
