CITIZEN’S POLICE ACADEMY On November 13, 2018 the Peters Township Police Department graduated its second Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA). Fourteen community members participated in the 8-week program, designed to expand the citizen’s knowledge and understanding of the law and explore police procedures. The participants were offered sessions in the following subjects: overview of police training, the Pennsylvania Crimes Code and Vehicle Code, Peters Township ordinances, DUI enforcement, traffic enforcement, police use of force, firearms safety, crime scene investigations, interview and interrogation, and drug enforcement. Special thanks to all of the participants and all of the members of the Police Department who assisted with the program. A new class of the Citizen’s Police Academy is set for March 2019.
