CITIZEN’S POLICE ACADEMY
On November 13, 2018 the Peters Township Police
Department graduated its second Citizen’s Police Academy
(CPA). Fourteen community members participated in the 8-week
program, designed to expand the citizen’s knowledge and
understanding of the law and explore police procedures. The
participants were offered sessions in the following subjects:
overview of police training, the Pennsylvania Crimes Code and
Vehicle Code, Peters Township ordinances, DUI enforcement,
traffic enforcement, police use of force, firearms safety, crime
scene investigations, interview and interrogation, and drug
enforcement. Special thanks to all of the participants and all
of the members of the Police Department who assisted with
the program. A new class of the Citizen’s Police Academy is
set for March 2019. For more information and to apply, visit
