Problems such as a skeletal crossbite or an improper relationship between upper and lower jaws are best treated at an early age. Treating patients early leads to fewer problems later on, and, in some cases, can even save a tooth from extraction.”
Dr. Schratz, who is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of both the Pennsylvania Association of Orthodontics and the Western Pennsylvania Society of Orthodontics( where he serves as Treasurer), added that fixing orthodontic problems early on can also prevent psychological trauma that kids may endure by being bullied or made fun of because of issues such as protruding or“ buck” teeth.
