Be sure to read “ Hometown Triple Threat ” on page 38 about Broadway ’ s Katie Terza , a 2005 Peters Township High School grad who performed as part of the 2016 Tony Awards as a member of “ On the Town ,” which was nominated for best revival of a musical , best choreography , best direction and best leading male role .

Professional roller derby sisters Heather and Leanne Groll , known as the “ Groller Derby Sisters ,” also graduated from PTHS . Roller Derby has taken them across the country and around the world to compete in Australia , England and Canada . For more on how these talented athletes have skated their way to the top , see “ Skating Sisters ” on page 42 .

Finally , 2003 PTHS valedictorian Matthew Sherwin has struck liquid “ gold ” as he works to establish a national beer museum — Brew : The Museum of Beer — that will tell beer ’ s 10,000- year history and call Pittsburgh its home . For more on the beer museum , check out “ Brewing Up a World-Class Destination ” on page 66 .

These young people are just one of the reasons that make us proud to be from Peters Township !
