INTRO TO MACHINE SEWING * Monday, December 8, 1:30- 2:30 p. m. or 2:30- 3:30 p. m. Monday, January 12, 4:30- 5:30 p. m. or 5:30- 6:30 p. m. Learn how to use the Makerspace sewing machines! During this program, participants will learn how to thread a machine, wind a bobbin and replace the needle. After the demonstration, participants will have the opportunity to try out a few stitches on our sewing machines and learn how they can access the machines outside the program. This program is intended for beginners.
CRICUT CREATIONS Thursday, December 11, 2- 3:30 p. m. or 6- 7:30 p. m. Thursday, January 15, 2- 3:30 p. m. or 6- 7:30 p. m. Learn how to use the Cricut to make a project! Technology and Makerspace Librarian Sarah Quinn will guide you through learning the Design Space app, using the Cricut machine and completing your project. Please register for only one class per month.
HOLIDAY PAPER QUILLING Monday, December 15, 12 – 1:30 p. m. Paper quilling is the art of shaping and gluing together strips of paper to create decorative designs. Join us to learn how to quill a beautiful holiday project.
3D MODELING Thursday, January 8, 6 – 7:30 p. m. Create a project in this hands-on introduction to Tinkercad, a free and user-friendly online 3D modeling tool.
CRICUT MACHINE 101 * Tuesday, January 20, 2 – 3:30 p. m. Learn how to use the Cricut Maker 4! The Cricut Maker 4 is a smart cutting machine that can cut over 300 different materials. During this class, you will learn the capabilities of the Cricut machine, navigate through the Design Space software and complete a simple cut paper shape. This program is intended for beginners.
ERESOURCE EXPLORATION Tuesday, January 27, 2 – 2:45 p. m. Explore one of the free e-resources provided by the Peters Township Public Library! Learn how to access the e-resource and navigate through its features. Attend in person or virtually.
LASER CUTTING & ENGRAVING INTRO Wednesday, January 28, 1:30 – 3 p. m. An interactive presentation about the newest equipment in the Makerspace: the Glowforge laser cutter and engraver! In this beginner-friendly class, we’ ll discuss how laser cutters work, compatible materials, appropriate design software, and the functionality of different file types.
* Successfully completing this program will earn you the Makerspace Certificate for the featured piece of equipment. Earning a Makerspace Certificate enables you to use the piece of equipment independently outside of a program or an appointment. eters Township

3D PEN ART * Friday, December 19, 2- 3:30 p. m. Wednesday, January 21, 2- 3:30 p. m. Join us to create 3D designs using the Makerspace’ s 3D Pens. A 3D pen extrudes heated plastic from the pen’ s nozzle that cools almost instantly into a solid, stable structure, allowing for the free-hand creation of three-dimensional objects.
SEW CREATIVE Monday, December 22, 1-1 sessions between 1:30- 3:30 p. m. Monday, January 26, 4:30- 5:30 p. m. or 5:30- 6:30 p. m. Sew Creative is a fiber arts program where you will complete a project on either the sewing machine or the embroidery machine in the Makerspace.
LASER CRAFTING Saturday, December 27, 10 – 11:30 a. m. or 1:30 – 3 p. m. A creative and hands-on laser engraving workshop! In the workshop, participants will learn how to use Glowforge Print software, design a project, and prepare their project for laser cutting and engraving.
INTRO TO CANVA Wednesday, January 7, 2 – 3:30 p. m. Whether you’ re new to graphic design or simply looking to improve your skills, this program provides an overview of how to create designs using Canva’ s diverse range of templates, features, and tools.
