With the ultimate goal of helping to send students out into the world ready to deal with real-life challenges , Rise Up has also reinforced the tendency for the staff to look for the good in every child .
“ As we choose which students to nominate every month , it is difficult to narrow it down ,” said teacher Bethany Adams . “ There are so many students who are deserving of recognition for many , many reasons . The tone of the entire building feels kinder and more encouraging . It ’ s humbling to be a part of .”
CATCHING THE HOMECOMING SPIRIT AT PTHS
On October 16th all the excitement in the Township was at the High School as our schools geared up for a big homecoming weekend ! The Peters Township High School Dance Team once again sponsored the Homecoming P-Rade – an evening of fun and activities that culminates with a parade of student groups ranging from elementary through high school . With performances by the High School Dance Team and Marching Band , families of all ages enjoyed a beautiful evening filled with PT Pride !
Additional monthly themes for the year include being courageous and overcoming fear , having empathy for those around us , and being intentional to overcome stress and distractions .
“ Life is hard and we all have to learn to be resilient ,” adds Sikorski . “ Our students will 100 % have scenarios where the outcome is not what they want – whether it ’ s failing a test or not getting into their first-choice college . The attributes that we build in our kids to overcome those temporary hurdles … maybe that ’ s how we help them to really succeed .”
