AMERICA 250 CHALK WALK
Students in Mrs. Pinto’ s AP U. S. History Class showed their creative side for their American History Chalk Competition in June! They not only displayed their knowledge but their artistic savvy as well to showcase this year’ s theme of” America 250.” Staff members voted on their favorite creation and the winner’ s design will be hung on the wall in Mrs. Pinto’ s classroom next year.
FIELD TRIP TO SIMMONS FARM
Bower Hill’ s 2nd grade had a field trip to Simmons Farm where students learned about the parts of a plant and how it grows from a tiny seed to an edible fruit or vegetable. They also learned about jobs on a farm such as pruning and how they use greenhouses to grow plants in Pennsylvania’ s climate. They cared for the farm animals, even planted a pepper and impatient plant.
ROBOT WARS AT PLEASANT VALLEY
Students in Mrs. Williams’ class put their engineering skills to the test using the sphero robots for a Battle Bot competition! In teams the 3rd graders built a frame for their bot and attached balloons and straws to try to pop each other’ s balloons in the arena. After a few tests, they refined their designs and crowned the classroom winners! Many thanks to Mrs. Callaghan for her skill( and robots!) to make the event a success!
PV 3rd graders danced to the Black and Gold Boogie during their musical performance.
PLEASANT VALLEY PITTSBURGH SHOW
Pleasant Valley 3rd graders had their annual musical in May. Our guests were tapping their toes to the tarantella and getting into the Black and Gold Boogie! Students shared fun facts about our city and showed all their musical and dancing talents as well. Kudos to our 3rd grade students and teachers- and a special shout out to Mrs. Viola who organizes these wonderful shows. eters Township
