GARBAGE & RECYCLING REMINDERS o The quarterly garbage fee is $ 100 per quarter( billed by
Jordan Tax Service). o One Township-issued cart for weekly garbage is included in the regular service. o One Township-issued cart for weekly recycling is included in the regular service. o No garbage or recyclables outside of either cart will be accepted, except for two bulk items per month( first full pickup week of the month) and during the autumn leaf collection. o Residents may, however, obtain an additional cart( s) for an annually adjusted fee directly through Waste Management. To order an additional cart, call 1-800-866-4460. You must use a Waste Management cart( s) to place out additional trash or recyclables. You cannot use your own cart; it must be a Waste Management cart. o Bulk Items will be limited to two items on the first full pickup week of each month. Trash bags are not considered bulk items. Yard waste is not considered a bulk item. Trash bags outside of your container will NOT be taken. Yard waste bags outside your container will NOT be taken( except during the autumn leaf collection). The Township website indicates the bulk collection dates for the entire year. Residents do NOT have to notify WM or the Township prior to placing out bulk items. o Glass and cardboard are included in curbside recycling, but the successful drop-off program behind Fire Station # 1 will remain an option for residents. o Yard and leaf waste must always be placed in your garbage cart other than during the five-week autumn leaf collection. The autumn leaf collection weeks are: o Week of October 27th o Week of November 3rd o Week of November 10th o Week of November 17th o Week of December 1st
o During the five-week autumn leaf collection, leaf waste must be placed in compostable paper bags. Leaves in plastic bags will not be taken. o Additional services, such as house cleanouts, disposal of construction materials, etc., will still be available directly through Waste Management for an additional fee. o Contact Waste Management at 1-800-866-4460; or o Utilize the Bagster program. You can purchase bags at a participating retailers, order bags online at thebagster. com, or call 1-877-789-2247.
ELECTRONICS & HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE o Peters Township residents are able to recycle electronics and household hazardous waste at their front door by scheduling a pickup through Waste Management At Your Door. To schedule a pickup, visit wmatyourdoor. com or call 1-800-449-7587. o A listing of items that Waste Management At Your Door recycles is available on Peters Township’ s website. There is no extra fee for this service; it is included as part of your garbage / recycling fee.
BROKEN GARBAGE / RECYCLING CONTAINERS o Does your container have damage to its lid or wheels? Call the Peters Township Municipal Building at 724-941-4180 to report a broken garbage or recycling container. Township staff will coordinate with Waste Management to repair or replace your container.
MISSED COLLECTIONS o If your garbage or recycling was missed, call the Peters Township Municipal Building at 724-941-4180. Township staff will coordinate with Waste Management on sending the appropriate truck back to service your residence.
