KEYNOTES MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION 2026
Keynotes is still accepting applications for its 2026 music scholarship competition, set for May 9 at the Fine Arts Theater of Mt. Lebanon High School. More than $ 16,000 in cash awards will be available for outstanding young musicians.
Eligible applicants include instrumentalists under age 26( as of June 1, 2025) and vocalists under age 30. Students must be full-time music majors at a college, university, or music school— or graduating high school seniors who have been accepted into a full-time music major program. Applicants must also be legal Pennsylvania residents for at least one year, or out-of-state students who attend school in Pennsylvania and can provide proof of a Pennsylvania address.

LABOURÉ LADIES GUILD TO HOLD ANNUAL FLEA MARKET
The Labouré Ladies Guild of St. Catherine Labouré Parish will hold its annual flea market,“ Timeless Treasures,” from 9 a. m. to 5 p. m. on Thursday, July 16, and Friday, July 17, and from 9 a. m. to 1 p. m. Saturday, July 18, at St. Louise de Marillac Church in the LeGras Parish Center( lower level), located at 320 McMurray Road in Upper St. Clair.
Sale items will include jewelry, gently used children’ s clothing to size 6, toys, decorative items, knickknacks, kitchen items, linens, tools, books, some furniture and much more. There will also be a boutique offering better-quality items.
Note that due to fire regulations, strollers are not permitted inside LeGras Parish Center.
SOUTH HILLS CHORALE TO PRESENT SPRING CONCERT
South Hills Chorale will present its spring concert— Dreamscapes: Songs of Hope and Adventure— on Friday, May 1, at 7 p. m. and Saturday, May 2, at 1 p. m. at Christ United Methodist Church, located at 44 Highland Road in Bethel Park.
The program explores the universal themes of imagination, perseverance, and the spirit of adventure through an engaging collection of choral works. Audiences will be transported through musical storytelling that ranges from heroic journeys and legendary tales to moments of reflection and inspiration.
“ This concert invites audiences to reconnect with the sense of wonder and possibility that music can create,” said music director Skylar Bunk.“ Each selection tells a story about striving, dreaming, and discovering new horizons.”
The South Hills Chorale, a community ensemble of singers from throughout the region, is known for presenting varied and accessible choral repertoire while fostering artistic excellence and community connection. Tickets are $ 25 and are available online, at the door, or from any chorale member. The performance venue, Christ United Methodist Church, offers convenient parking and comfortable seating, providing an ideal setting for this uplifting musical experience.
