A TON OF BOOKS For birth to teen Monday , April 8 through Saturday , April 13 It ’ s National Library Week ! Help us circulate a Ton of Books from the Youth Services department ! For every pound of books you check out you will receive a ticket to win a prize basket . Winners will be selected once we reach a “ ton ” of books .

PAWS FOR READING For Pre-K and up Second Saturday of the Month , 10 to 11:30 a . m . ( April 13 and May 11 ) We are excited to host certified therapy dogs at the library . WILD KRATT WEDNESDAY For Pre-K and up Second Wednesday of the Month , noon to 12:30 p . m . ( April 10 and May 8 ) Bring a bag lunch and picnic as you watch nature unfold with the Kratt brothers on the big screen . Registration is required for each child participating .
FAMILY LEGO NIGHT For the whole family Mondays , April 22 & May 20 , 6:30 to 7:30 p . m . Build Legos together as a family . Create and name your design to be displayed in the Youth Services Department . It will stay on display until just before the next Lego night . Registration is required for each child participating .
CHESS WITH A CHAMPION For 1st through 6th grade Third Tuesday of the month , 6:30 to 7:30 p . m . ( April 16 and May 21 ) Frank Gavlak , our local chess expert , is ready to share the basics of how to play chess . He will be sharing basic chess play techniques and skills to make your game even better . Registration is required for each child participating . We ask that an adult remain in the library during this program .
SENSORY STORYTIME For ages 3 - 6 Thursday , April 18 and May 1 , 10 to 10:30 a . m . Sensory Storytime is an inclusive , welcoming environment for children of all abilities . We will read a story , sing songs , move our bodies , engage in fun sensory input and more ! Storytime will be lead by Marianne Faber , a pediatric occupational therapist . Caregivers are welcome and encouraged to ask questions about occupational therapy and sensory processing .
