GIANT OAKS GARDEN CLUB’S ANNUAL PLANT SALE AND FLEA MARKET The Giant Oaks Garden Club will host its Annual Plant Sale and Flea Market on Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Peters Township Library in McMurray. The event is open to the public and is a fundraiser used to support many local charities including three $1,000 high school scholarships, garden therapy for nursing home residents, Meals on Wheels, Washington City Mission and Avis Arbor, Canonsburg Lake Restoration, Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens, Phipps Conservatory’s outdoor classrooms for Boyce Mayview Park, Howard Levine Clubhouse, the Peters Township Library and many more. The plant sale will offer a variety of herbs, plants, tubers and hanging baskets—many of which are grown and picked from club members’ gardens. Th e flea market will offer the community an opportunity to purchase some new and gently used household, garden and decorative items. The McMurray Art League will be hosting an art show titled “Cityscapes” on Apr. 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. The show will be held at the league’s studio located in the McDowell Shops, 4069 Washington Rd., McMurray. A reception with refreshments will accompany the show. Featured paintings will reflect city buildings and architectural features.
